August 23 - Scott Hall's Birthday Party - Northampton, MA

BRIAN:Scott Hall's Birthday Bash. "Bash" may not really be the word. Scott Hall, the Drunk Stuntmen's keyboard player, asked if School for the Dead could play at his afternoon party. OF COURSE! Max couldn't make it (previous engagement), but here's what he missed: A large kielbasa prepared by Rosa the rock and roll hairdresser. All the Miller High Life you could drink. The 4 of us playing for over an hour to anywhere between 0-6 people at a time. Scott Hall sang "She's Getting Anxious" (Henning song). Ed sang "Jackass" (Beck) and Thane sang "Temptation inside Your Heart" (Velvet Underground). We almost got Matt Pierce to sing a Stones song but he disappeared after almost doing it. Scott Hall was singing Ken's praises when we took a break. Oh, the other highlight: when have I ever played while folks did whippits? When will I ever do that again? Never before, and maybe never again. Before we began playing, I took a walk to Downtown Sounds to get a replacement part for my high hat stand. A very important part, and not only did I NOT have to special order it, but it was only $4.00!!
